Located on the campus of UW-Marshfield/Wood County, Gallery 450 is a showcase for
Wisconsin artists and contemporary art through its Visual Arts Gallery.
Gallery 450 is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and during all
performances in the Helen Connor Laird Theatre. The Gallery is open free of
charge.
New Visions Gallery

New Visions Gallery is Marshfield’s art connection. The non-profit community
museum has been located in the lobby of Marshfield Clinic since 1975. New Visions
organizes a series of changing exhibitions. Exhibits change every six to seven
weeks and feature a variety of art forms including national traveling exhibitions,
significant works on loan from private and public collections and quality national
and regional art.
In late winter, Marshfield student art is featured. Each spring the Gallery organizes
a national invitational exhibition of art with agricultural themes. A biennial
juried exhibit of contemporary regional art is held. New Visions also maintains the
Robert & Barbara Bromberg Collection of contemporary original prints, Japanese prints,
fine art posters, Haitian paintings, Australian Aboriginal art and West African
sculpture masks. A list of current collection installations can be picked up at the
Gallery Visitor’s desk. An art Reference Library is available for browsing. Each Mothers
Day, New Visions sponsors Marshfield Art Fair. For complete listing of 2007 exhibits

Stierle Bird Exhibit

Marshfield Public Library has a unique exhibit for area visitors in the library’s
downstairs. The Stierle Bird Exhibit consists of about 400 birds representing 140
species, plus a collection of approximately 2,000 bird eggs.
Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Saturdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Summer hours at the Library (Memorial Day
through Labor Day) are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Saturday; closed on Sunday.
Wisconsin Art Gallery
611 St. Joseph's Avenue - In St. Joseph's Hospital
Wisconsin Art Gallery is located in St. Joseph’s Hospital. This unique art gallery
in the hospital corridors contains a collection of 50 original art works by
Wisconsin Artists.
Thomas House Center for History
103 S. Central Ave. - Marshfield, WI
The Thomas House Center for History is located in the newly restored Thomas House.
The featured display from January through April will be the history of all 22 Wood
County townships. Periodic collections will also be displayed. Beginning May 1, an
interpretive display of Marshfield's fire of 1877 will be featured. The History
Center is open on Tuesdays from 1-4 p.m. during July and August, Thursdays from
1-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 am.m-2 p.m. or by appointment. Tours are available by
